I see a few of the 2's on ebay from time to time, 2 right now. seems the 1's can be picked up for $100 or less. Is the 2 worth the extra $ and what does the 2 do that the 1 won't do? thanks, Tom |

The VS-II has the guitar temperment setting that is very useful. |

Todd Stock, The tone generator of the VS-II creates square wave patterns, not sine waves, which is not so healthy for your speakers at high volume. I smoked a speaker in a few seconds using it. Not recommended. |

I have owned both and still have a vs-ii in my show/play room. I spent the extra money and bought one of Petersens upper scale piano strobe tuners. I think it is more accurate and worth the additional investment. If you can't afford $500-600 for a tuner then the vs-ii is the next best thing. I haven't used anything in it's price range that is comparable. I don't know what can go wrong ( buying used delicate equipment sort of worries me)but I can say the people at Petersen are GREAT! |

I have the Vs-I and it works fine for me.The only thing that bothers me is the screen can be a little shakey.They say the VS-II has a better screen so I would go with the II. |

thanks for the input. looks like the VSII is the way to go. The comment about used equipment to only save a relatively few dollars makes sense to me too. tom |
